Titles fight on dry and fast Cerkno track

After practice day in Cerkno bike park the riders are excited about tomorrow’s race on the fast track. Finals start at 2.30pm.

Most of the practice runs for the third round of Unior Downhill Cup and Slovenian National Championships in Cerkno are behind us. The riders from five countries are happy with the new track built by Pedal Team crew.

“I’m really happy with the track, surprised in fact,” says the men’s elite title defender Jure Žabjek (Unior Tools Team) who broke into the World Cup top 10 just last weekend in Switzerland. “It includes everything from rocks to really good jumps. It is right there with the World Cup tracks, it’s fast enough too. The grip is good after yesterday’s rain and I hope it stays that way. It would be difficult in wet with all the roots.”

Despite high speeds the rescue teams had no work during today’s practice.

Sunday starts with morning practice, followed by semi-final run starting at noon. Then the final run with full series points, Championships medals and titles starts at 2.30pm.
